What it is: This is an database made on an Excel spreadsheet that you can download directly to your computer. It contains the top 5000 keywords that have at least 1000 searches PER DAY, AND 50,000 or less competing pages. This database is updated regularly. Updates are available to members of The IM Advantage immediately after they are posted.
How it works: You can search this database for high volume search terms that don’t have a lot of competition. You can put in a search term or simply scroll through the information. Included are:
- The exact search phrase that people type into google
- The daily search volume
- The number of competing pages
How to use it: I’ve used the Opportunity Database to find a couple of opportunities that I will pursue in the very near future.
Let me give you an example of one of them I’ve found. The term “hawaii travel deals” is searched for 3016 times per day and yet there are only 27,900 competing pages. You could use this information to make a site, build some backlinks to increase rankings and get traffic and then get advertising on the site from airlines, hotels and tour operators in hawaii. Not to mention the possibility of putting Adsense ads on the site. Having such a low number of competing pages means that it’s relatively easy to move quickly up in the SEO rankings.
You could also use it to identify great potential affiliate marketing opportunities. Here’s an example: the search term “Neck Tattoos” gets 3000 searches per day and has 35,800 competing pages.. You could build a blog around neck tattoo images that has banners for the tattoo clickbank products and earn affiliate commissions that way.
Value rating: I’d call the Opportunity Database a very good value for two main reasons. First, most of us would have to spend hours upon hours to accumulate such data. Here you have it at your fingertips. Very few people in the internet marketing world have this information, so you’re setting yourself up for success by accessing it and using it. Second, the potential markets and niches that you can identify using this information are off the beaten path and because of that more likely to succeed. The only downside is that you need to have some experience in internet marketing before you can use it an apply it.
